Welcome

The Existential Academy is a Community Interest Company, based in West Hampstead in London.  It  is a place for study, training and education in relation to human existence.  Our approach draws on a long philosophical tradition, but brings this up to date applying it in a practical way to enable people to achieve greater well being despite the demands, challenges, and frustrations of contemporary life.

Our focus is on psychotherapy, counselling and coaching: helping people reach more of their goals and yet feel less over-stretched doing so.  We do this by focussing on what really matters to each person, and by using our--and their-- knowledge of where longer-lasting well being can be found.

The Existential Academy provides short courses for interested members of the public, continuing professional development for established professionals and our flagship introductory course which has been designed to be closely integrated with the training courses provided by the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Discover a unique fusion of techniques drawn from Qigong, Yoga, Buddhist Meditation, Christian Mystics, and modern neuroscience, designed to activate communication pathways between the mind and the body, raise energy levels, regulate mood, enhance performance, reduce inflammation, dissolve pain, and enhance the sense of connection to oneself and others.
In this participatory workshop we explore cultural differences that may influence health outcomes for new migrants and refugees.
This workshop will provide a broad overview of existential theory through examination and exploration of the various themes found in existential philosophy.
The Medicine Wheel is a series of interlocking maps of life and shows us the forces that operate on us from all directions. The wheels are circles of power and knowledge, ways of understanding life and its cyclical and circular nature. They teach of our connection to all things and show our way to Centre, our way home. Our ancient ancestors saw the world in terms of circles and cycles and so it was natural that they should teach of life in this manner.
