The Existential Academy one of the Septimus group of companies, owned by Professors Emmy van Deurzen and Digby Tantam and set up as a non-profit making, community interest company, to provide a range of psychological, psychotherapeutic and counselling services to the professions and to the public.

The Existential Academy is also the name of the building at 61-63 Fortune Green Road, London NW6 1DR, that is dedicated to the work of the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling and its therapy branch Dilemma Consultancy.

The New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling ( ) was founded by Profs Emmy van Deurzen and Digby Tantam in 1996 and it works closely with Middlesex University to offer post graduate education in psychology, psychotherapy, counselling and coaching.

Dilemma Consultancy was set up in 1999 and acquired a building in Sheffield to provide psychotherapy, counselling, coaching and assessment services to the wider public.  Dilemma has also operated in London in conjunction with the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling (NSPC) since 2005 and Dilemma now offers a low cost existential clinic which is staffed by final year NSPC doctoral students on placement.

The Existential Academy will also offer its own programme of public lectures, workshops and other forms of adult education separately from NSPC's more academically based programmes.

The mission of the Existential Academy is to use philosophical, psychological and therapeutic knowledge and expertise to help people live their lives with greater awareness and wisdom. We aim to offer a wide range of events to the local community.
