ERA: Existential Research Academy

Founders: Prof. Emmy Van Deurzen and Prof. Digby Tantam

We are delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new initiative – the Existential Research Academy (ERA) – a centre of excellence in research aimed at developing an evidence-base for Existential Therapy, establishing appropriate process and outcome variables, and with a particular emphasis on spiritual change and life satisfaction.

Our intention is to foster and support quality research that serves to enhance the understanding of Existential Therapy in practice.  So another emphasis we will be fostering how to identify conditions or situations where existential therapy is of particular value.

We expect the Existential Academy will be able to offer a limited number of grants to support especially promising research proposals. ERA will also sponsor a regular lunch-time meeting at which research papers of interest will be presented and discussed.

We would be delighted to hear from you if you share our passion for expanding the research into Existential Therapy.  There is no fee but in joining us we hope that you will find a place where we can share ideas and together develop a dynamic arena for practice-based research into our approach.

Please see below for details of the inaugural meeting to be held here at the Existential Academy. If you are interested in attending, please contact 0203 515 0223 or email:
