Nature and Emotional Wellbeing
- 23rd Jun '20 11.00 am – 1.00 pm
The relationship between nature and psychological wellbeing is widely documented, and the practices and ideas of the eco-therapists have begun to be used more in mainstream psychotherapeutic practice. Reconnecting to nature is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves, and for our clients. Being in nature is healing and can show us so much of ourselves. It can be truly transformative. In a world of online therapy and with greater restrictions for many people on being outdoors, how do we creatively work with nature and the natural world?
Dr. Charlotte Harkness will draw on key ideas from her book "The Nature of Existence" to show how we can incorporate nature into our therapy work even with people that are not able to access the natural world. Charlotte will also focus on the relationship between nature and self-care and show us how, in these uncertain times, nature can guide us to new and clearer ways of living.
